What an adorable black kitten! I bet Basil looked like that once upon a time.

I wrote out the check and the envelope is ready to go out tomorrow. I'm doing this the old-fashioned way because you have to email someone separately to be anonymous if you contribute online. What are they thinking?! If it weren't for your campaign, that's the kind of thing that dissuades me from contributing to an org.

Did you post about how you picked them? Seems like a great cause, and I hadn't heard of them.

I noticed their comment about anonymity but I don't know what it means. I google myself constantly and my name has never showed up on anything NNAF-related, even though I've donated to them many times!

Anyway, thanks so much!

As for why I picked them, I think people in my Facebook/Twitter/whatever sphere back in 2009 when George Tiller was murdered mentioned NNAF as a good organization to support, and as a result of doing my 28th birthday fundraiser for them, I got to know WentRogue (who was doing their social media at the time), and they've been one of my priorities for support (both with my own money and other people's ;) ever since!

Yeah, I'll probably send an email after my birthday noting that some people had concerns about that wording. Oh, I forgot to ask you: since you wanted to be anonymous, do you want me to list you by your Dreamwidth username in my original post? Or would you rather be anonymous? (This post is public but I still don't want to assume!)

Listing by dreamwidth handle is okay, thanks for asking. Bit of a different scope than being listed by full name in some org's website or newsletter!

Thinking about it a bit, I wonder if it's a permission grab for publicity usage? "Our website says you agreed we could use your name, even though we usually don't!"
