In other news, basketball players over 6'4" will be required to have leg-shortening surgery, and gymnasts with less than 10% body fat will be required to wear sandbags. It's the American way!

I'd sincerely like to understand the argument that a woman with high testosterone levels (which don't grant an automatic win anyway, any more than all cismen are equally strong or muscular) has a "disorder" that must be "fixed" before she can compete, but a female basketball player who's 6'3'' and has average-female T levels just has a natural advantage. I simply can't sort out the logic involved.

It's about gender so magical thinking is required to make the data fit the available dichotomy.

How about: tall women can be sexy but masculinized women are abhorrent?
