A user-hostile community

Are you running an open-source project? Are you looking for an example to look to as to how to make sure your users don't submit bug reports? Look no further than the OpenOffice community:
"SBA->Mrosin: And PLEASE make it short this time. We're here to work on a software [sic] and not to read books."

It could be worse; at least this doesn't declare the user an idiot for wanting to do whatever they were doing that triggered the bug.

I submitted a feature request (which I consider a bug report, but you know) and now one of the developers is trying to persuade me that I shouldn't actually be distracted when OO tries to complete "the" to "theoretical" (there's no way to turn this off globally unless you disable word autocompletion altogether).

Company: "No, you don't."

That was more or less what it was like at my first job out of school. Needless to say, that company died a miserable death.

I'm not sure if they think this is the way to gain market share, or...
