I like the parts that I read and/or skimmed! (Which is worth so much, I know, from someone who didn't volunteer to read any of your drafts.)
I think, if I am ever part of an organization that is debating whether they should have a code of conduct, I'll try to make the point that they assuredly already have one - the debate is over whether to write it down, because that opens it up for criticism and perhaps the implicit code of conduct isn't one that people would like to admit that they have. (And then I'll be super tempted to make historical analogies that won't help.)
