It's true, and I'm not sure how to fight it on general terms either. I think you have to fight it on specific terms. That said, I'm not even sure how to fight it in concrete cases besides saying "hey, so-and-so isn't lying about their own experience and you don't have the right to tell them their feelings are wrong." Obviously, just telling people to do this doesn't work, you have to be able to demonstrate why they shouldn't... but yeah, this may be one of the NP-complete problems of human interaction.
