Yeah. Certainly, I don't need a penis to be a man... or play the trombone... or do push-ups. I don't want it *for* anything instrumental like that, I want it because my brain says it's part of me. I think maybe there have been a few vocal people over the years who are transgender-but-not-transsexual and have assumed that all other trans people are exactly the same as them, who've pushed the don't-have-surgery thing. I don't really understand exactly what business it is of theirs.
